Pictured above is the new fit-PC2 from Compulab (specialists in miniature PC design) - an ultra low power PC. Capable of running Windows XP or Linux at just 6 Watts power consumption, and full high definition video at just 7-8 Watts, fit-PC2 is based around an Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor and the Intel US15W system controller hub.
fit-PC2 is tiny at just 4" x 4.5" x 1.05"!. It does not need a fan since its aluminium case offers sufficient heat-sinking to keep everything cool, and it is designed to be used with a solid state hard drive. With no moving parts there is less to go wrong increasing long-term reliability, and fit-PC2 is also absolutely silent.
