Prince Charles and Prince William

Prince Charles is building a mansion on the 900-acre Harewood Park estate for son Prince William powered by renewable energy. The home will feature everything from sheeps wool insulation, solar powered water heating, and woodchip boilers to energy efficient lightbulbs and eco-friendly reed-bed sewage works. Stone will be taken from a nearby quarry which lies within the estate, and all the wood used during construction will be from local woodlands.

The mansion is less than one hour's drive from Highgrove, the home of Prince Charles, and will have six bedrooms and five bathrooms. It is believed the mansion will be an engagement/wedding present for Prince Williams should he propose to his girlfriend Kate Middleton. The estate cost £5 a few years ago and Prince Charles is expected to spend the same again on construction.
